Susan English (OH)
www.woosterdance.com/susan-english
An early competitive swing dancer, Susan English is happiest when she is in motion. She has called monthly contra and square dances continuously since 1990, plus occasional Homeschool, Civil War, and Jane Austen Balls. At home in Wooster, Ohio, Susan directs the Madrigal Dancers, an intergenerational performing group. These days she enjoys mixing styles at her Saturday night Z00M dances at Woosterdance.com.
Sue Hulsether (WI)
Sue Hulsether is a dance caller, teaching artist, and musician from southern Wisconsin. Since 2003, she has traveled from coast to coast to lead dances in community centers, schools, barns, and dance halls, with dancers ranging from preschoolers to octogenarians. Her artist-in-residence career allows her to dance with thousands of school children every year, and has risen out of the skills she gained from over a decade as a music teacher. Sue recently released Join Up Hands, a book of simple and accessible longways, circle, and square dances. In addition, the book includes teaching tips, reference material and personal essays on the joy of dance. Join Up Hands companion CD is filled with dance-length tracks of lively old-timey music.
